Plenty of Celtic Fans Reckon Tosh McKinlay’s Presence at Tannadice Means They’re in for Lawrence Shankland

Celtic scout Tosh McKinlay was spotted at Tannadice this afternoon – leading to plenty of Hoops fans speculating they’re about to make a move for Lawrence Shankland.

Dundee United striker Shankland is one of Scottish football’s most coveted players and the 24-year-old conjured up a typical poacher’s finish to score his 25th goal of the season against Hibs in today’s Scottish Cup fourth-round clash.

Midway through the first-half, TV cameras caught a glimpse of ex-Celtic full-back McKinlay, who now carries out scouting work for Neil Lennon’s side, and his presence has definitely led to speculation on social media:

Do you think McKinlay was at the game to watch Shankland?

And given Shankland has scored 25 goals in 25 games so far this season, albeit in the Championship, do you think he’d be capable of making the step up and performing for a club as big as Celtic?
