Celtic’s Hatem Elhamed Shares ‘Hurt’ After Injury Setback

Hatem Elhamed has taken to Instagram to share his ‘hurt’ after suffering another injury setback.

The Celtic defender has been missing from action since playing in the 2-1 win over Lazio in the Europa League on November 7th.

A groin injury has kept Elhamed out, with Jeremie Frimpong and Moritz Bauer playing at right back instead.

Elhamed looked set for a return after travelling to Dubai with Celtic for their winter training camp.

But Neil Lennon confirmed earlier this week the Israeli defender has suffered an injury setback, as reported by The Daily Record.

And Elhamed has taken to Instagram to share his disappointment:

Elhamed’s injury hasn’t been entirely negative for Celtic though, as it’s allowed 18-year-old right back Frimpong to emerge in the first team.

And even if Elhamed does return to fitness, he’ll likely have a big job on to displace the young Dutchman.

Celtic are next in action when they play Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup on January 18th.
