Rangers Coach Michael Beale Clarifies Team’s Formation and Playing Style to Fans

Rangers coach Michael Beale has taken the time to clarify the club’s playing style and formation under Steven Gerrard this season.

Following Sunday’s disappointing 2-1 defeat away to Hearts, some Gers fans have been querying their team’s style of play, and the role of wide players in what ostensibly looks like a 4-3-3 formation, with some supporters even calling for a new wide player or striker to be purchased this month.

However, Beale’s latest interactions on Twitter today might shed some light on exactly how he, Gerrard and Gary McAllister are trying to play, with the Englishman explaining that two Number 10s have been deployed in most matches – rather than any out-and-out wingers:

What do you think of Beale’s comments, and do they help you understand how Rangers are trying to approach games?

And would the Ibrox side perhaps benefit from playing more traditional wingers from time to time?
