A Lot of Rangers Fans Are Calling for Nathan Patterson to Start Against Stranraer

Rangers make their return from Scottish football’s winter break on Friday night when they take on Stranraer in the Scottish Cup’s fourth round – and plenty of fans are calling for Nathan Patterson to be given his opportunity.

Earlier today, Gers boss Steven Gerrard confirmed captain James Tavernier will be missing for several weeks with an abdominal issue, leaving the right-back slot up for grabs.

Of course, Jon Flanagan and Matt Polster will both be hoping to replace the Englishman but supporters are demanding Patterson is handed the chance to show what he can do in the first-team.

The 18-year-old full back has worked his way through the ranks at Rangers Academy, joining the Light Blues at the age of 8, and signed a new, professional contract at Ibrox back in December – and it seems he already has quite the reputation amongst the club’s fanbase:

Will Steven Gerrard hand Patterson a start on Friday, or will he stick with a more experienced player against the League One side?
