Karamoko Dembele set up Scott Robertson for his superb goal against Chelsea Under 23s earlier this week.
The Celtic duo have both had first team experience this season, but it’s in the Under 23s where they are getting most of their game time.
And they were both in the starting XI when Celtic visited Chelsea’s Cobham training ground on Wednesday.
There were other notable inclusions in the side, including Jack Hendry, Lee O’Connor, Luca Connell, Liam Burt and Jonathan Afolabi.
But it was Dembele and Robertson who ended up the difference between the teams.
Dembele was played in on the right and cut back to play into Robertson in the centre – and the midfielder brilliantly twisted and turned before firing beyond the goalkeeper:
Both players will fancy their chances of getting more game time between now and the end of the season – and performances like this against quality opposition like Chelsea will definitely help them.
Celtic play Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup tomorrow, but it’s unlikely either will be involved after playing 90 minutes just two days ago.
