Video: Leigh Griffiths Scores Celtic’s Opener Against Partick Thistle

Leigh Griffiths scored Celtic’s opener against Partick Thistle tonight.

Neil Lennon named the Scottish striker in his starting line-up for the trip to Firhill in the Scottish Cup.

Celtic must have been working on a change of shape in Dubai during the winter break as it’s been debuted this evening.

Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard are both playing up front, with Scott Brown, Callum McGregor, Olivier Ntcham and Tom Rogic playing in a midfield diamond.

The ideal start would have been an early goal – and that’s what Griffiths gave them in the 12th minute:

That will feel great for Griffiths after the recent reports of his unhappiness at Celtic Park.

Patryk Klimala was signed in a £3.5million move from Jagiellonia Bialystok earlier this week and will be expecting regular games.

But Griffiths should have no problem keeping his spot in the team if he goes on a scoring run from here on.
