Video: Roy Hodgson Confirms Connor Wickham to Go On Loan – Could He End Up at Rangers or Celtic?

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has confirmed striker Connor Wickham is likely to go out on loan this month – but could the forward be a target for either of the Old Firm clubs?

Wickham, now 26, was a £9 million signing for Palace back in 2015 but his time at Selhurst Park has been blighted by a spate of serious injuries, resulting in just 40 Premier League appearances for the club.

Wickham scored Palace’s equaliser against Norwich City on New Year’s Day, and made another appearance in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Man City, but Hodgson has today admitted he can’t guarantee him regular game time between now and the end of the season:

Celtic have already signed a striker this month in the shape of Patryk Klimala, but Neil Lennon likes a target man up top – so could Wickham fit the bill?

And Steven Gerrard has Alfredo Morelos and Jermaine Defoe to rely upon, but the Ibrox club could be left pretty short of options should one of them end up injured and, of course, Gerrard played under Hodgson during his England career.

What do you think of the situation? Is there a chance Wickham could end up in the Scottish Premiership?
