FLASH BACK

Last weekend the fights that were of title note were, as we knew, all in the magnificent city of Belfast!

On, Saturday the 1st of February in the Ulster Hall the most impressive of the two cards on in the city saw lightweight Gary Cully blast Joe Fitzpatrick out in the first round for the Ireland national title whilst super bantamweight David Oliver Joyce not only stopped Lee Haskins for the WBO European strap, but sent him into retirement.

Haskins retires with a world title on his mantelpiece as well as many memories with us that he has shared. For the 40 fight veteran and former IBF world title holder the knee injury with which he has battled for some considerable time has won and he has been forced to retire.
