Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has handed supporters a massive boost ahead of tomorrow’s Europa League clash with Braga by confirming Borna Barisic will be fit – whilst also insisting he and his players won’t simply hold on for a 0-0 draw.
The Ibrox club travel to Portugal for tomorrow night’s showdown 3-2 ahead of their opponents following last Thursday’s 3-2 win in Glasgow, and will progress to the last-16 if they avoid defeat.
Left-back Barisic was taken off injured in last week’s first-leg and missed Sunday’s 2-2 draw at St Johnstone but it appears the Croatia defender will be fit for the return game, having shaken-off his problem.
Speaking via the Sun, Gerrard explained: “Borna is with us and came through training along yesterday and then with the group today.
“So he is available.”
And on the complexion of the tie as a whole, Gerrard added: “At any level of football, and certainly against opponents like Braga, you need to eradicate any individual errors.
“We know we have a difficult 90 minutes ahead.
“We have a small advantage, but we have no reason to think we are favourites. We are playing against a fantastic team.
“We want to come here, carry a threat and cause Braga as many problems as we can.”
What do you think of Rangers’ chances of making the next round, and how important could Barisic and his deadly crosses be against Braga?
