Sutton Calls Celtic’s Europa League Exit Against Copenhagen a ‘Reality Check’

Chris Sutton has described Celtic‘s Europa League exit to Copenhagen as a ‘reality check’, whilst claiming the Danish side won’t go any further in the competition.

Sutton’s former side were red-hot favourites to progress to the last-16 of the competition following last week’s 1-1 first-leg draw in Denmark, but shambolic defending cost the Premiership champions at Parkhead.

In the end, Celtic’s European campaign was ended for another season after a 3-1 defeat in the second-leg and a 4-2 aggregate loss overall, and now Sutton reckons the result should be taken as a reality check for his ex employers:

Copenhagen will now go into the hat for Friday’s Europa League last-16 draw, whilst Celtic will look towards their Scottish Cup quarter-final against St Johnstone on Sunday afternoon.

But what do you think of Sutton’s comments, and how big a blow to Celtic’s campaign could this setback prove to be?
