Video: How Has Giovani Lo Celso Not Been Sent Off For This Tackle On Cesar Azpilicueta?

Giovani Lo Celso may count himself very lucky after his tackle on Cesar Azpilicueta went unpunished by officials during Chelsea v Tottenham this afternoon.

The Argentine midfielder was handed a starting role by Jose Mourinho for the trip to Stamford Bridge.

And he would have been frustrated alongside his teammates as Chelsea took a 2-0 lead after 47 minutes.

Olivier Giroud had opened the scoring in the first half before Marcos Alonso added another just after half-time.

Then it almost got worse for Spurs as Lo Celso caught Azpilicueta late with a tackle.

No foul was awarded at the time, but there was a VAR check on it – before referee Michael Oliver continued play with nothing given.

When you see the tackle, that may be a mistake:

Frank Lampard was understandably annoyed on the touchline that no red card had been given.

If Tottenham manage to get back into the game then you would expect this incident to come into sharper focus at full-time.
