Video: James Tavernier Says He’s ‘Embarrassed’ by Second-Half Killie Display

Rangers captain James Tavernier has admitted he was embarrassed by his side’s second-half display in last night’s 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock.

The Ibrox club’s challenge for the Ladbrokes Premiership title was derailed in Ayrshire for the second consecutive season, with late goals from Stephen O’Donnell and Eamon Brophy handing Alex Dyer’s side all three points.

Rangers had gone into the half-time break 1-0 ahead thanks to an excellent strike by Scott Arfield, but Tavernier has criticised the second 45 minutes, and insisted it’s not the first game in recent times he’s been seriously disappointed by:

Rangers are now 10 points behind bitter rivals Celtic, albeit with a game in-hand, with the two Glasgow giants set to square-off in the third Old Firm league match of the campaign on March 15.

But do you think Tavernier and his team-mates have any chance at all of stopping Celtic’s push for nine-in-a-row, and is he right to call last night’s showing embarrassing?
