Video: Liverpool Rocked by Early Saúl Ñíguez Goal Against Atletico Madrid

Liverpool‘s Champions League tie in Madrid this evening got off to the worst possible start after Saúl Ñíguez opened the scoring for Atletico after just four minutes.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds travelled to the city’s Wanda Metropolitano Stadium for the first time since winning the competition for an historic sixth time against Tottenham back in June, but if they were feeling comfortable in familiar surroundings it certainly didn’t show in the early exchanges.

In an uncharacteristically slow start by Liverpool, Diego Simeone’s Atletico pounced on the very first opportunity of the match, with Ñíguez popping up with yet another important strike for the La Liga giants:

With Liverpool a staggering 25 points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League going into tonight’s game, could this be the first time in Klopp’s reign that his team have been genuinely caught cold, and perhaps even a tad complacent?

What do you think of the goal, and will Liverpool recover to defend their trophy this season?
