Video: Ridiculous Situation Means Inverness’ James Keatings Will Miss Challenge Cup Final

James Keatings will miss the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup final after Inverness’ appeal for a ridiculous booking was rejected.

The striker was sent off after 58 minutes of Caley Thistle’s 2-1 win over Rangers Colts on Sunday.

Keatings was already on a booking when he went down under a challenge at the edge of the box.

Referee Greg Aitken deemed it a dive and controversially showed the former Hibs, Hearts and Dundee United man a second booking and red card.

But footage of the incident would have given Inverness hope that they could appeal and have the red card overturned.

Just look at what Keatings got sent off for:

But amazingly that appeal has been rejected this afternoon:

And now Keatings will miss out on the final against Raith Rovers at the end of March.

The man himself obviously couldn’t believe the referee’s decision:

It really is incredible that that the appeal was thrown out.
