Steven Gerrard is excited about the prospect of playing Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League.
The Rangers manager faced the media this afternoon ahead of his side’s Scottish Cup clash with Hearts on Saturday night.
And it was the first time he’s spoken publicly since his side were drawn with the Bundesliga outfit in the last-16.
It’s a draw that is exciting the Ibrox supporters – and Gerrard shares that.
Speaking this afternoon, Gerrard, per STV, said:
Rangers will play Leverkusen at Ibrox in the first leg on March 12th before travelling to Germany a week later.
Between that, Rangers will welcome Celtic to Ibrox hoping to make improvements in the Ladbrokes Premiership.
They currently trail their Glasgow rivals by 12 points with a game in hand, but will feel they have plenty of time to change that.
This weekend, it’s the Scottish Cup against Hearts at Tynecastle – where Rangers will want to get revenge for losing there last month.
