Video: Steven Gerrard ‘Super Proud’ After Braga Win and Insists Result Was ‘No Fluke’

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard says he’s ‘super proud’ of his players following the 4-2 aggregate win over Braga – and insisted the result is absolutely ‘no fluke’.

After winning 3-2 at home to the classy Portuguese outfit in last week’s Europa League last-32 first-leg, Gerrard and his players followed it up with a hard-fought 1-0 victory this evening thanks to Ryan Kent’s well-taken second-half goal.

The result means Rangers are now the first club to qualify for the last-16, and whilst he was clearly delighted to be in Friday’s draw, Gerrard was keen to get across the point that the victory was well-deserved:

Having made the last-16 of a European competition for the first time in nine years, how far do you think Gerrard and his Rangers players could go in this season’s competition?

And was this evening’s win a breakout display for the impressive 22-year-old centre-back George Edmundson?
