Video: Stunning Goal Shows What Matej Vydra Could Have Brought to Rangers in January

Matej Vydra showed Rangers what they could have had if they had managed to sign him in January.

The Czech Republic international emerged as a potential deadline day signing last month – with The Evening Times reporting on January 31st that Steven Gerrard was closing in on a loan move for the Burnley striker.

That didn’t materialise, with Burnley deciding to keep Vydra – and Rangers moved on to sign Florian Kamberi on loan.

But it may be a signing that could be made in the future.

And Rangers fans would certainly love that when you see Vydra’s goal for Burnley against Southampton today:

What a finish!

Considering Rangers’ form recently, they could probably do with that sort of quality in the final third.

It’s since been revealed by The Daily Record that Burnley simply didn’t want to loan Vydra out and would rather recoup some of the £11million they spent on signing him from Derby County back in 2018.
