Andy Robertson Revealed as Person Behind Large Anonymous Donation to Six Food Banks in Glasgow

Andy Robertson has been doing more than his fair share of good deeds during the Coronavirus epidemic after it was revealed the Scotland captain was behind a massive donation to keep six Glasgow food banks open.

The 26-year-old Liverpool left-back will have been left frustrated by the timing of the crisis, with the Reds closing in on their first English title in 30 years before football was suspended nationwide, but Robertson seems fully aware that there are far more important issues than football to be dealt with.

According to The Times, the ex-Dundee United defender is believed to be behind a massive donation to help keep six food banks in Glasgow and the surrounding area going.

Glasgow NE Foodbank, a project based near Celtic’s home stadium Celtic Park where Robertson began his career, has provided more than 53,000 meals for locals:

The other foodbanks to receive support from Robertson are Glasgow SW Foodbank, Glasgow NW Foodbank, Glasgow SE Foodbank, Rutherglen & Cambuslang Foodbank and East Renfrewshire Foodbank.

What a gesture, eh? Well played, Andy. Well played.
