Dado Pršo Explains How David Murray’s Private Jet Made Him Turn Down AC Milan and Sign for Rangers

Dado Pršo has explained how Rangers‘ decision to send a private jet to fly him to Glasgow influenced his decision to join the Ibrox club ahead of Italian giants AC Milan.

Former Croatia striker Pršo became a cult hero to the Gers fanbase after moving to the Scottish Premiership in the summer of 2004 on a free transfer from Monaco, and spent three trophy-laden years with the light blues.

Having played a key role in helping Monaco reach the 2004 Champions League final, Pršo was heavily in-demand as his contract ran down, and the man himself has revealed he could’ve joined the likes of Kaka, Seedorf, Stam and Inzaghi at the San Siro.

But it seems David Murray’s lavish gestures made the difference in Pršo’s decision making.

He explained via the Sun: “I’m not one for looking back and asking for sympathy.

“For me, it was sentimental enough when they applauded me.

“I don’t regret signing for Rangers over Milan. I was a fan of AC Milan, but they weren’t very professional.

“As soon as the chairman of Rangers spoke to me it was all over. They even sent a private plane to pick me up.

“That was in complete contrast to Milan, who kept changing their minds.

“I went to Glasgow and don’t regret a second.

“I now work for my brother-in-law’s football agency. We have many players in Monaco, Nice, Metz and in Croatia too.

“Unfortunately, I am in retirement as far as even playing kickabout football goes.

“My knees immediately blow up. My doctors told me I have the knees of an 80 year old man and I need to be careful. Walking is not a problem, but I can’t run.”

How highly did you rate Pršo as a Rangers striker, and what do you think of his anecdote?
