Hearts‘ miserable campaign rumbled on this evening, as the Jambos were beaten 1-0 away to a resolute St Mirren side – and now plenty of the Tynecastle faithful are certain their team is heading for relegation.
Hearts have been rock-bottom of the Ladbrokes Championship for the vast majority of the season and went into tonight’s clash at Paisley knowing they were in do-or-die territory against Jim Goodwin’s men.
However, it was the home side that came out on top, with Jon Obika bagging his 12th goal of the season in all competitions to seal a 1-0 victory – and it now leaves Hearts staring down the barrel of a shock relegation to the Championship.
As you can probably imagine, the response to the full-time whistle on social media was pretty brutal from a Hearts perspective:
Daniel Stendel and his players are now four points off 11th place, and a whopping six points off 10th spot – with just eight games remaining.
Do you agree that Hearts are heading for the second-tier, or is there still time for them to come up with a remarkable escape?
