The Jambos went to the home of the arch enemies rock-bottom of the Ladbrokes Premiership and firm underdogs to take all three points, whilst Hibs, meanwhile, were coming off a five-game unbeaten run in all competitions and had the opportunity to go into fifth spot with a victory.
However, after an even first-half the game exploded into life in the 53rd minute when Hearts were awarded a penalty after a slightly bizarre handball by Scott Allan.
Sean Clare scored from the spot, and he was joined on the score-sheet by team-mates Oli Bozanic and Conor Washington, as Stendel guided his side to all three points.
It might’ve taken the German coach a while to settle into Scottish football but it seems Stendel is winning plenty of admirers for his classy style of play:
Hearts are now off the bottom of the Premiership, but do you think they’ll be able to go on a run that’ll see them escape the relegation dogfight?
