Edouard has blossomed into arguably the best player in the Scottish Premiership after completing a £9 million move to the Hoops in the summer of 2018, and he currently has an impressive 27 goals in all competitions so far this season.
The 22-year-old former PSG player has a contract that runs until the summer of 2022, but reports coming from France over the weekend suggested he’d be willing to sign new and improved terms – on the basis that there was a ‘gentlemen’s agreement’ put in place that would allow him to leave Glasgow after just one more season.
However, speaking to the media this afternoon ahead of Wednesday’s Premiership clash away to Livingston, Lennon seemed to distance himself from the reports, and insisted he has nothing to add:
Speaking via Clyde 1, Lennon was asked for news and said: “I can’t.
“I’d love to but that’s from the French side of things and nothing from this side of the water.”
Should Celtic make it their priority to keep Edouard for at least one more season, when they’ll probably be attempting to win a tenth consecutive league championship?
