Neil Lennon Insists Leigh Griffiths is Back to ‘Old Self’

Neil Lennon believes Leigh Griffiths is back to his ‘old self’ at Celtic.

The Hoops manager led his side to an emphatic 5-0 victory over St Mirren at Celtic Park this afternoon.

They went into the game knowing a victory would take them 16 points clear at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership with rivals Rangers playing tomorrow and already holding a game in hand.

So Lennon would have been expecting a win to put them a step closer to winning the title – a feat that is now potentially eight wins away for the reigning champions.

Odsonne Edouard and Callum McGregor both got on the scoresheet at Celtic Park, but it was all about Griffiths’ hat-trick.

And Lennon now believes the Scotland striker is back to his ‘old self’:

Griffiths now has eight goals in his last 13 appearances – and that rich vein of form comes at the perfect time for Celtic as they go for another treble.

It’s also great timing for Scotland ahead of the Euro 2020 play-off clash with Israel later this month.
