Plenty of Rangers Fans Hoping Daniel Sturridge Ends up at Ibrox

Daniel Sturridge has suddenly become a free agent – and there’s plenty of Rangers supporters who are hoping the striker ends up plying his trade at Ibrox.

After leaving Liverpool following a successful six-year spell at Anfield, Sturridge departed British football and headed for Turkey with Trabzonspor, where he signed a three-year deal with the SuperLig side.

However, the 30-year-old’s stint in the Turkish top-flight has come to a very early conclusion after the club’s hierarchy announced Sturridge’s contract had been terminated by mutual consent.

Sturridge managed just four goals in 11 league matches but it seems there’s more than a few Gers fans who are hoping his former Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard snaps him up:

With Alfredo Morelos struggling to find his shooting boots, and Jermain Defoe still recovering from an injury, could Sturridge do a job for Rangers under Gerrard?
