Scott Brown Gives His View On Title Winners if SPFL Shut Premiership Down Early

Scott Brown Gives His View On Title Winners if SPFL Shut Premiership Down Early

Scott Brown believes Celtic should be crowned as champions if the SPFL decide to shut down the Ladbrokes Premiership early.

The Hoops captain faced the media this afternoon amid widespread concern about the COVID-19 outbreak.

An emergency COBRA meeting at Westminster this afternoon could lead to strict guidelines on how large events are managed.

It could also lead the SPFL to take drastic action on the remainder of the football season in an effort to tackle the spread of the virus.

And if closing down the SPFL early was a route they go down, Brown believes that Celtic should be crowned champions.

Per Clyde Superscoreboard:

Celtic currently lead the Premiership table by 13 points over nearest rivals Rangers, but the teams are set to face off at Ibrox on Sunday and Steven Gerrard’s side have a game in hand.

If the SPFL were to have the same view as Brown, it would mean Motherwell getting European football in third, Hamilton dropping into the Championship play-offs and Hearts being relegated.
