Gerrard and his players were left reeling on Saturday night following their shock exit in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals against Hearts, with the 1-0 defeat even more surprising considering it came just three days after the stunning 4-2 aggregate win over Braga in the Europa League.
With the Gers also 12 points behind arch enemies Celtic in the Ladbrokes Premiership, it looks set to be another campaign without silverware for Gerrard and Ferguson reckons it’s time for an even bigger squad overhaul.
To be fair to the Rangers hierarchy, Gerrard and his staff were given significant funds to invest £7 million in Ryan Kent and £3 million in Filip Helander, as well as several other high-profile signings such as Ianis Hagi.
But is Ferguson correct in his assertion that more reinforcements are needed in order to deny Celtic in their quest for nine and ten consecutive league titles?
