Regarded by many as one of the greatest players to ever pull on Rangers’ iconic blue jersey, Cooper played for the Ibrox club for 12 years and went on to win three top-flight titles, three Scottish Cups, and seven League Cups, as well as another Scottish Cup triumph when he moved to Motherwell in 1991.
Gullit – a Ballon d’Or winner in 1987 – was one of the best players in the world during his pomp but the former AC Milan and Chelsea star was left in awe when he first set eyes on Cooper, as he explains in the clip below:
Having won two European Cups, three Serie A titles and the European Championships with Holland in 1988, Gullit was undoubtedly a world class technician and praise from such a high-profile player shouldn’t be taken lightly.
