Video: Moussa Dembele’s Classy Double Keeps Him on Ronaldo’s Coattails in 2020 Goalscoring Charts

Moussa Dembele scored a seriously classy double for Lyon last night – and the brace keeps the former Celtic striker hot on the heels of Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2020 scoring charts.

Dembele started in his usual position as Lyon’s central striker in last night’s 2-0 derby win over local rivals St. Etienne and scored both goals in the victory, including a rather audacious chipped penalty.

His latest strikes take Dembele to 18 goals in all competitions this season, and 16 just in Ligue 1, and means the 23-year-old now has an impressive 12 goals so far in 2020.

Remarkably, only Ronaldo has scored more in the calendar year thus far, with 13, in all of European football’s top-five leagues.

Dembele could be about to make a mega-money move to the English Premier League, with Football.London just one of many tabloids crediting both Manchester United and Chelsea with a serious interest.

Do you think Dembele would be a credit to the English top-flight?
