World Cup Winner Cesc Fabregas Delivers Glowing Assessment of Billy Gilmour

World Cup winner Cesc Fabregas has delivered a glowing assessment of Scottish teenager Billy Gilmour, following the midfielder’s outstanding display for Chelsea last night.

Gilmour was given the nod to start against European champions Liverpool in Tuesday evening’s FA Cup fifth round tie at Stamford Bridge, and found himself against the likes of Fabinho and James Milner in the centre of the pitch.

But Gilmour, 18, was the standout performer, and his performance seems to have earned him plenty of new admirers.

As we told you previously, Frank Lampard was effusive in his praise for Gilmour, whilst Alan Shearer described the former Rangers youngster as ‘absolutely magnificent’, and now Fabregas has given his two cents.

Having played for Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea and Spain, who’d know better than Fabregas, eh?

How excited are you by Gilmour’s progress, particularly from a Scottish point of view?
