France Football Select Celtic Kit as One of the Greatest Football Strips of All-Time

One of Celtic‘s iconic green and white home kits has been selected as part of a run-down of the Beautiful Game’s all-time great strips.

France Football – who founded and were previously for the prestigious Ballon d’Or Award – have drawn up a list comprising their staffs’ opinion of the best 50 jerseys ever worn by any professional football team in the world, and Celtic’s instantly recognisable Hoops finds itself just outside the top-ten.

To be precise, the Hoops worn by the Parkhead club’s most famous side, the 1967 European Cup winning Lisbon Lions, makes the grade at No12 and comes in ahead of the likes of AC Milan, Real Madrid and Liverpool’s most epochal strips:

1: Ajax 1971-73
2: Saint-Étienne 1975-77
3: Holland 1974
4: Brazil 1970
5: Boca Juniors 1981
6: Peru 1970-82
7: Argentina 1986
8: Juventus 1983-85
9: France 1984
10: PSG 1982-83
11: France 1998
12: CELTIC 1966-67
13: Olympique Marseille 1992-93
14: AC Milan 1989-90
15: Liverpool 1977-78
16: Real Madrid 1956-64
17: Bastia 1977-78
18: USSR 1960
19: New York Cosmos 1975
20: Napoli 1988-89

If you want to spend some of your quarantined time this evening mulling over the entire top-50, you can do so here, but what do you think of Celtic’s inclusion?

Should they be higher or lower in this particular list?
