FAST FORWARD
In terms of competitive boxing… there is nothing doing… twice…
In terms of dangerous events there may well be one to come.
On the 15th January in Dubai, new cruiserweight, Steven Ward of Belfast, who lost his light heavyweight European title to Ricard Bolotniks in the MTK Golden Contract quarter final, and then moved up divisions shall take on Hafthor Bjornsson in an exhibition bout.
Bjornsson was the World’s Strongest Man in 2018, claimed he was cheated out of the 2017 title by head referee at World Strongest Man, Colin Bryce when the UK’s Beast, Eddie Hall won, and is heading toa boxing match with Hall later this year.
This was meant to be sparring and now it is an exhibition. I am not sure of what exactly and whilst I should be able to report on something next week, hopefully worthy of the ink, it is safe to say, in the absence of anything else this shall probably get more attention than it merits.
FUTURE HISTORY
Right now, nothing else worth seeing here… Please can we have the boxing back? Pretty please… with a cherry on top?
And folks, follow the rules, to help us get sport back on – please…
