Floodlight Failure At Arsenal Vs Coventry Forces Fans To Light Up Emirates With Mobile Phones

With Arsenal leading Coventry City 2-0 in the first half of their 4th Round FA Cup tie, it appeared that everything was going to plan for Arsene Wenger’s side.

An early brace from German forward, Lukas Podolski, saw the Gunners take a commanding lead against their League 1 opponents, but while Arsenal were doing the business on the pitch it appears the lighting technician’s at the Emirates took their eyes off the ball…

Yes, with a sell-out crowd watching on, The Emirates descended into darkness when several of the stadiums floodlights failed in a reported power-surge.

Luckily for the television viewers, however, Arsenal and Coventry fans joined forces, delved into their pockets to find their mobile phones, and helped light up the faltering stadium:

With the second half underway and the floodlights back to full capacity here’s hoping the match retains its spark!
