We brought you the news yesterday when ex-Aston Villa, Everton and West Ham midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger revealed he is gay, and as expected the celebrities of Twitter leaped at the chance to send messages of support to the retired German midfielder.
The most funny of which was undeniably the futile attempt by Prime Minister, David Cameron, to seem cool and edgy to his football supporting constituents.
By Stuart Hynd – @supers0nic_
Cameron tweeted the following:
As an #AVFC fan, I've always admired what Thomas Hitzlsperger did on the pitch – but I admire him even more today. A brave & important move.

The response Cameron recieved, however, really made us chuckle.
Here are the best of:
@David_Cameron STOP PRETENDING TO BE A VILLA FAN.

Love how David Cameron got bullied for acting like he wasn't a homophobe and pretending he was a Villa fan. #PrimeMinisterProblems
