Mark Warburton has promised to give young players a chance during his reign at Rangers.
And one who could be ready to make the step up to the first team at Ibrox is midfielder Josh Jeffries.
At just 17, he’s already a regular fixture in Billy Kirkwood’s under-20 team and showed just why last night with a brilliant 25-yard goal to settle Rangers’ seven-goal thriller with St Mirren.
The young Gers were staring at a 3-1 defeat at half-time of this SPFL Development League clash.
But they produced a brilliant second-half fightback, with Ross McCrorie and Ryan Hardie levelling the game before Jeffries pounced on a loose ball to slam home from 25 yards.
It came four minutes from the full-time whistle and ensured Rangers walked away from St Mirren Park with three points.
And surely Warburton must be taking note as Jeffries being one for the future?
