England Fans Drool Over Ross Barkley Following Performance Against Lithuania

With qualification already secured, tonight’s game against Lithuania was pretty meaningless for England and manager Roy Hodgson decided to take the opportunity to play some of his younger squad members.

And so there were chances for Stoke City’s Jack Butland, Swansea’s Jonjo Shelvey and Leicester’s Jamie Vardy to show England fans what to expect in the future with Kyle Walker, Kieran Gibbs, and Harry Kane also earning starts.

The move looks to have paid off for Hodgson with his side winning comfortably and looking to hold on to their 100% record, however, one star in particular has won the plaudits.

Everton’s Ross Barkley followed up his performance against Estonia on Friday night with another fantastic showing in the tonight’s group game, setting up Kane and grabbing a goal for himself in the first-half.

And England fans took to Twitter to share their appreciation stating that England’s future looks in good hands with Barkley at the helm of the midfield:
