Everton fans might want to remember the name Liam Walsh after seeing him hit this incredible strike to score from his own halfway line in the club’s Under-18 match against Derby on Saturday.
Youth team coach John Doolan saw his side move top of their league with the 2-0 victory away at the Rams.
And the victory all started with this moment of magic from 18-year-old midfielder Walsh as he ran on to a misplaced pass from one of his opponents to lob the goalie from around 50 yards away:

We’ve tried our hardest not to mention David Beckham so far, but how can we go on without comparing it to the former Manchester United midfielder’s effort against Wimbledon in 1996?
Walsh is just a first year scholar in the Everton youth team and will have high hopes of progressing all the way through to Roberto Martinez’s first team squad.
If he does then fans will look back on this goal as the first step on his road to stardom.
