John Arne Riise Wants El Hadji Diouf 50/50 With Jamie Carragher or Steven Gerrard

John Arne Riise has called for El Hadji Diouf to have a 50/50 challenge with Jamie Carragher or Steven Gerrard.

The Senegalese attacker – who spent two seasons at Liverpool from 2002 – has been in the news today with some public criticisms of his former team-mates.

He labelled Gerrard an “egotist” in an interview with French magazine So Foot.

And he described Carragher as a “turkey” he definitely wouldn’t want to spend his Christmas with.

The Sky Sports pundit actually had a brilliant response for Diouf, insisting he’s been called worse than that before.

Now former Red Riise – who was a team-mate of all three players – has given his view on Diouf’s comments – and he wants to see the controversial man put on a pitch with Carragher and Gerrard to see who comes out on top.

Riise wrote on Twitter:

Strong stuff from Riise on Diouf.

The former Rangers wideman also had some strong words for ex-Celtic player and manager Neil Lennon.

According to Diouf, Lennon asked for his shirt after Liverpool’s 2003 UEFA Cup tie with the Hoops, but he refused.

That’s despite the tie being marred by Diouf spitting on a Celtic fan during the first leg in Glasgow.
