John Terry has revealed his ultimate Chelsea XI – making space for himself in the team.
The legendary Stamford Bridge captain has never previously revealed his best XI from his 18-year career in the first team.
And there aren’t too many surprises in his selection – opting to include himself in the line-up as well as close pal Frank Lampard, iconic striker Didier Drogba and club legend Gianfranco Zola.
Terry revealed the team as he gave a revealing interview to former Liverpool rival Jamie Carragher for www.dailymail.co.uk.
Asked for his best ever XI, he replied: “I’ve never done this before! I’m going to play 4-3-3. So we’ll say, Cech, Ivanovic, Carvalho, Ash. I’m putting myself in!
“Now this is where it gets hard… Lamps… Didier (Drogba)… Robben (puffs cheeks out), (Damien) Duffer was good, wasn’t he? But it’s got to be Hazard in that position. Then Makelele, plus Zola. It’s got to be him, hasn’t it? We’d be s*** at corners but we’d be all right otherwise!”
