Did Mesut Ozil Really Just Take a Sarcastic Dig at Jamie Carragher on Twitter?

In case you’ve been a bit busy today, Mesut Ozil has been conducting a rather amusing Q&A session via his Twitter feed.

The Arsenal star answered questions on everything from his celebration to dating tips, but it was the query on his favourite aspects of living in the UK which caught our eye.

It turns out that the World Cup winner is a really big fan of Jamie Carragher’s punditry on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football – or is he?

When asked for what he liked the most about living in England, Ozil didn’t hesitate in naming the Liverpool legend and his analysis as one of his treasured items, but was he being a touch sarcastic?

The man himself quickly responded to Ozil’s compliments and simply said what the rest of us were thinking…

Initially, we thought Ozil’s answer was a compliment to Carragher’s work, but some fans think it might have been a dig, following some of Carragher’s comments on Ozil earlier in the season…

Either way, with Gary Neville leaving Carragher all on his own, there’s a space up for grabs on Monday Night Football, and we’d LOVE to see that partnership take place.

What do you think about Ozil’s comment? Was he having a go at Carragher?
