Guus Hiddink dealt brilliantly with questions about a fight between Oscar and Diego Costa in training yesterday.
It was reported that the two players had to be separated by team-mates after a knee-high challenge from Oscar on Costa.
Chelsea have been dogged by on and off-field problems this season – ranging from Eva Carneiro’s sacking to talk of a player saying he would rather lose than win for old boss Jose Mourinho.
So a fight between two stars was probably the last thing new interim manager Hiddink would have wanted to see as they prepared for their FA Cup third round clash with Scunthorpe on Sunday.
But he didn’t seem bothered at all by the story as he spoke to the press today, instead laughing off the situation and insisting it was a pity that the club photographer took the day off yesterday.
As tweeted by freelance football journalist Miguel Delaney, Hiddink said:
Hiddink on bust-up: "It's a pity our photographer was off yesterday as he could have taken beautiful pictures of it."
