Jamie Carragher is a Liverpool icon, but rather than bother himself with his former club’s clash with Manchester United this afternoon, the Sky Sports pundit seemed more concerned with crowbarring in a brilliant dig at old pal Gary Neville.
Neville and Carragher co-hosted Sky’s Monday Night Football show for several seasons until Neville was offered the Valencia job and headed for pastures new in Spain.
But things haven’t gone quite to plan for Neville, who has failed to win any of his first six La Liga matches, drawing four and losing two, including this morning’s 2-2 draw with Rayo Vallecano.
And alongside Carragher for today’s Premier League clash at Anfield was Peter Schmeichel, who suggested that United could one day be managed by his former team-mate Neville.
Well, that was all too easy for Carragher…
Schmeichel thinks Neville might get the Man Utd job, Carragher cracks a funny. Nobody hears him. Shame. https://t.co/BW9guxSMh7

Nice one, Jamie.
As soon as he comes off air, Carragher’s phone will be ringing and we have a fair idea who it might be.
