Former Manchester United midfielder Cleverely is a keen golfer with a handicap of 15, while Jagielka is believed to be even lower than that.
So the fact they were taking on two fellow team-mates who’d never swung a club in their lives made for an interesting contest.
In a far less glamorous event than we’re likely to see at Hazeltine this weekend, the Goodison players slogged it out at their Finch Farm training complex with some lacklustre putting on show.

Everton have made a promising start to the season under Ronald Koeman.
They notched four wins and a draw from their first five games in the Premier League before slipping to a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend.
They’ll be hoping Lukaku’s finishing is significantly better than his putting when they take on Crystal Palace in the Friday Night Football action tomorrow.
