Not Everyone is Happy With Scott Brown’s Scotland Return

Scott Brown looks set to come out of retirement and make his Scotland return ahead of the country’s crunch World Cup qualifier against England next month, according to reports.

The Celtic captain called time on his international career following the failure to get to Euro 2016.

But it appears he’s either missed being involved or has been persuaded to return by Gordon Strachan after missing the Tartan Army’s opening three games of the World Cup qualifying campaign.

A big factor in his decision must be his strong recent form for Celtic, excelling in big games both at home and in Europe.

And after taking just four points from three games against Malta, Lithuania and Slovakia, it should come as a boost for Strachan and Scotland.

But not everyone is happy with the news. While there are some Celtic fans disappointed that he’s prepared to jeopardise his club form by giving up the international break rest he appears to be benefitting from, there are more Scotland fans who believe he’ll make no real difference – especially against England.

Brown had an 11-year Scotland career, earning 50 caps, but failing to help the country to a major tournament before retiring.

Some fans struggle to see that changing now:
