The Portuguese coach has been saying all the right things throughout his first day in charge of the iconic Govan club, but he was forced to put straight the clip that emerged last week showing him heaping praise on Rangers’ bitter rivals.
Caixinha sent the short message recorded message on behalf of his then club Santos Laguna after Celtic had secured the 2015 Scottish Premiership title, and he probably wasn’t expecting to be Rangers manager any time soon.
But as his appointment was being finalised, the video went viral on social media last week, and probably wasn’t the most ideal start to his tenure:

However, rather than letting the matter fester, Caixinha swiftly put things to bed today, telling members of the Scottish press exactly what happened:

There you go – nothing much to it, really.
He wasn’t a closet Celtic supporter or a follower of the Hoops; he was merely following orders.
That settles that then!
