Bookies Slash Odds on Romelu Lukaku Being Man Utd’s New No.9

It seems Romelu Lukaku‘s move to Manchester United from Everton has moved a lot more closer today – and some bookmakers are even slashing their odds on the Belgian being the next player to wear United’s No.9 jersey.

For most of the summer, it’s been common knowledge that Lukaku wants to leave Everton for pastures new, but up until today, Chelsea had always seemed like the most likely destination.

However, various different reports have all surfaced overnight suggesting United have hijacked Chelsea’s deal, and are now on the brink of nabbing Lukaku for a fee in the region of £75 million.

You never know – these reports could be nothing more than speculation, but at least one bookmaker is starting to believe them.

Ladbrokes, via the Mirror, are offering punters odds of 1/3 for Lukaku to inherit the No.9 shirt from Zlatan Ibrahimovic before the start of the news season, whilst they’re offering a price of 11/8 for him to score on his debut.

If you fancy the 23-year-old to finish his career at Old Trafford, you can get odds of 20/1, and the odds on Lukaku becoming United’s all-time top scorer is a whopping 254/1.

Do any of the bets take your fancy?
