Roger Federer Has Absolutely No Recollection of Wearing a Scotland Kit as a Boy

Tennis legend Roger Federer has absolutely no recollection of ever wearing a Scotland kit as a young boy, despite a picture of him in the navy blue strip doing the rounds on social media.

Federer made his first-ever visit to Scotland yesterday to take on Andy Murray in an exhibition match in Glasgow, and the Swiss superstar looked more than a little perplexed when he was presented with a snap of him wearing a Scotland top, which looks to be from around 1985 or 1986.

Speaking via the Mirror, the 19-time Grand Slam winner look rather confused, before politely saying: “Aw man, don’t know, four, five or six?

“I think this is from South Africa and I have no idea why. You can say I was always a Scotland fan.”

Even if it isn’t him in the photo, it seems Federer now has something of an affinity with Scotland after posting pictures to his Twitter of his first taste of Irn Bru and shortbread – which was homemade by Andy’s very own grandmother.

Personally, we really hope it is Roger in the image – but what do you think?
