The NBA’s version sees an exhibition match played every February amongst the league’s best players, who are drafted by the two players with the most votes, and the most recent instalment took place in Los Angeles last week.
The all-star clash is one of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures in American sport, but the rivalry and tribalism in British football has always prohibited the top teams from merging their players, even on a one-off basis.
But clearly still buoyed from scoring against Chelsea yesterday, Lukaku reckons it could be time to put rivalries aside for one day a year, and see who’d win between north and south:
Here’s an idea for you guys… the nba has all-star game! Don’t you guys think we should organise one in the @premierleague.. The north vs the south! And the fans vote… what do you guys think? @premierleague @FA ??

Personally, we would absolutely love to see this happen, but we’re not so sure how it’d go down with other supporters.
And who would win? Surely a mix of United and City’s best players would take some stopping?
