Two Rangers fans couldn’t resist a dig at Scott Brown while speaking about Steven Gerrard‘s appointment on Sky News.

Thousands of Gers supporters were allowed inside Ibrox this afternoon following the club’s announcement that the Liverpool legend had agreed a four-year deal to take over as manager.

That follows a week of speculation and excitement surrounding their interest in Gerrard – and the attendance at the club’s stadium shows just how excited fans are.

But two supporters couldn’t just stay focused on Gerrard’s appointment – they had to bring up Celtic captain Brown.

Sky News were in among the fans as they waited for Gerrard to be paraded by the club following his first press conference and the lines on Brown came as they asked about the Anfield great’s appointment:

We’ll be honest – that did make us laugh.

Brown is, of course, one of Celtic’s most hated players among the Rangers support, but was there any need to bring him up at Gerrard’s unveiling. It just shows you the frustration among the supporters as the Hoops dominate the Scottish game at this moment in time.

They’ll really be hoping Gerrard can improve the team immediately and get them competing with Celtic on all fronts next term.
