The Gunners manager led his side to their first competitive victory under his stewardship, beating West Ham 3-1 after trailing early on against the Hammers.
Pre-match reports said Ozil was missing from the matchday squad due to injury, but that received some criticism from fans – particularly with other reports saying the manager and player had fallen out.
However, Emery has denied any fallout and confirmed Ozil missed due to illness:
Emery says there is no truth to the reports of a bust up with #Ozil at the training ground.
He said “Mesut was sick yesterday and he spoke to me and the doctor… but this information it is untrue”

Emery will be disappointed to be facing questions about an unhappy Ozil, but he shouldn’t care too much considering he’s just won his first game as Arsenal manager.
Marko Arnautovic had given the visitors the lead at the Emirates, but Nacho Monreal quickly equalised before an Issa Diop own goal and Danny Welbeck finish sealed a 3-1 victory.
Arsenal will now be hoping to kick on from that and make up for their stuttering start.
