Celtic Fans Delighted as Mikey Johnston Signs New Five-Year Contract

Celtic fans are delighted this afternoon after it was revealed Mikey Johnston had penned fresh terms with the Parkhead club.

The 20-year-old has struggled with injury problems this season, but has increasingly became a more important first-team player, not only under Neil Lennon, but Brendan Rodgers too.

Johnston started the first Old Firm match of the season at Ibrox and set-up the first goal as Celtic won 2-0, and he stands a decent chance of coming into the starting XI for tomorrow’s showdown between the two Glasgow clubs.

And if he does take to the field, he’ll do it having signed a contract that will keep him with the Hoops until 2025 at least – much to the delight of fans:

What do you think of this afternoon’s news, and how influential a player do you think Johnston could potentially become in the coming years?
